On March 9, 2013, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania was opened in Aspen, Colorado, led by Honorary Consul John Vytautas Prunskis M.D. It is the 8th Lithuanian Consulate to be opened in the United States of America and the first ever Honorary Consulate established in the city of Aspen. /more/

Dr. John Prunskis met privately with former President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus for almost 2 hours after Dr. Prunskis was declared the winner of the election for co-chairman of the Lithuanian Parliament/World Lithuanian Community Commission. Topics of discussion included, however, were not limited to: energy independence, relations with NATO and western countries, relations with eastern countries, Eurozone issues, dual citizenship and changes needed to promote more foreign investment as well as small business investment in Lithuania.
